God's Little Church by the Side of the Road

There are many who long to be part of a church "where everybody knows your name," and be part of a congregation where arms are always opened wide in welcome, and the faces that greet the visitor is as friendly and inviting as a greeting from favorite relative or friend. If this is what you desire then Abyssinia might be what you are seeking.

The Faithful Disciples of the Gospel

Snowy days, rainy days, large or small attendance, church services go on at Abyssinia. God's Word, which says, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them " is a very apt description of the Devine blessings at Abyssinia. There is "anointing in this place." It is felt from the time one enters the sanctuary. The church can be likened to a precious pearl that is just waiting to be discovered. It is dwarfed in size by large, upscale single-family homes that have shot up in the pristine Fairland neighborhood over the last few years. Luxury homes bound Abyssinia in the rear, and the front of the church sits just off to the side of Fairland Road, which runs through one prosperous housing development after another. Nevertheless, this tiny piece of "God's property," which is home to a small band of faithful, is a gigantic beacon to all who are thirsting to hear the Word preached as a witness to God's magnificent glory--where Reverend Spencer Jackson is fulfilling the mission and completing the work begun by his father of "Gathering Souls for the Kingdom of God"!

Dedicated To The Gospel of Jesus

The congregation is currently being shepherded by the well loved, and very much-respected Reverend Spencer Jackson who delivers Bible-based sermons designed to stir the soul to action. If you really want to hear the Word of God preached, and are not satisfied with merely having your ears tickled then Abyssinia is right for you. Reverend Jackson's sermons speak to the heart with the seriousness and the criticality of the times in which we are living. There is a sense of urgency in his messages because he understands that the mighty God we serve is not satisfied with having his sheep fed milk toast. He knows that the time that was spoken of long ago is drawing near and that God's people need to be prepared. "God's Church By the Side of the Road" is literally rocked every Sunday morning by humble hearts that are inspired to give powerful testimony about our Savior's goodness.
